In November of 2011 Batumi Oil Terminal completed commissioning works of gas collector system of European standard and set it in operation in the tank farm of Kapreshumi. This system includes odor-suppressor unit jointly designed and manufactured by companies of Conty Chemical (Latvia), Kappa Gi (Italy) and Institute of Oil Transportation (Ukraine). Similar oil vapor purification systems are operated already two years at berths and in tank farm of oil and fuel oil area on the main territory. Concentrations of substances contained in oil vapors at the berths’ areas and tank farm are therefore many times below to the corresponding hygiene and sanitary norms. These activities constitute the part of the large-scale environmental program of Batumi Oil Terminal and are agreed with the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Georgia. This program is aiming to prevent emission of odor and substantially improve quality metrics of ambient air in the zone of production infrastructure of the company. In January of 2012 it is scheduled to set in operation the gas collector system of oil vapor and vapor recovery unit in the Oil Base, which is one of the production infrastructures of Batumi Oil Terminal.
